The Pomodoro Technique Might Be For You!

What is the Pomodoro technique anyway? Briefly, it is a methodology that assists with your productivity while working from home. The point here is that your workspace should be a designated area at home that supports your output.

You may enjoy working from your couch, and that is fine; however, not everyone can work in this way and if you are one of those people you may need to look at investing time into where you think that workstation should be while working from home.

Ideally, to make your work-life balance thrive a home office or co-working space would be suitable to stay super productive.

Co-working could be the solution to your work-life balance

If you are working from home, you might find yourself in a lonely place, especially if you are freelance writing. Engaging with people has got to be close to the top of this list as it allows us to increase productivity and is essential for mental health.

It is easy to set up a Meetup activities group based around freelance work or chose to have regular work dates to gossip about some freelance mid-week stories. You have the ultimate control over your work-social life, and this means you can create a work-life balance that does not only increase your social abilities, but it will make you feel good about yourself.

Focus On Yourself and Your Hobbies

Your work-life balance can merge into your home-life, and this is where you will need to pay more attention to resolve this situation by doing the things you love (excluding work).

Achieving the right work-life balance is no easy feat by doing this you can set-up non-work activities, for example, exercise, time with family and even learning how to cook (In my case I need all the help I can get in the Kitchen).

Did you know you can quickly re-charge your batteries when having a break from work, it’s easy-to-do. All you need is 30 minutes simply go for a walk this means getting out of the house, and you will feel the stress being lifted, contemplation kicking in and suddenly WOW when you get back to working from home, you will feel a boost in productivity.

One Task at a Time Otherwise You Might Jeopardise Your Work-life Balance

Be reasonable when taking on your workload, don’t overdo it; otherwise, you might live to regret it, especially when it comes to a social event at a weekend that you want to attend. You’re a freelancer, and work might inevitably dry up at specific periods in the year. If you are in-demand clients will completely understand if you can’t accept their current request, this will give you the chance to book them in at a later date, how professional is that!

It is sometimes hard to envisage that perfect work-life balance; however, it is possible, if you want to give freelancing a try read more about how Skillbox works.
